I am just going to rant about something which is bothering me at the moment. Forgive me for the bad grammar. Twitter does not let me use enough letters for the rage I feel about a certain craft product!

This stuff gives all the pretentious folk of London/NewYork (where ever), a way to pretend that they can draw.

So basically you just print off a picture and slap this stuff on to SUPPOSEDLY fabrics, wood etc just as an imprint. Looks like this…

However….One day people realised that you actually need talent to get anywhere in the art world and figured out that, now you don’t even have to be good at drawing, simply tracing. You just imprint this on to a piece of paper, or whatever kind of hard surface you want, then just simply colour in the gaps, like a painting by numbers. Cover up all the printing marks with pencil. TADAAHHHHHHHH. The general public are fooled.
Where does that leave the people who pride the fruits of their training, all those hours of drawing endless landscapes, conventional fruit bowls, sweaty life models with unusually small penises, the lot.
This post makes me seem like I know everything about art etc, hands down I do not. I’m not even on the long path to the ladder of success yet, but this is making me want to turn around and hitch hike somewhere else.
